Prep Baseball Report Oklahoma hosted the OK Fall Top Prospects Games at beautiful Failing Field on the campus of Norther Oklahoma College at Enid. This invite only event featured over 85 of the top players from every class in Oklahoma. Each player participated in a pro style showcase to get all the measurables, followed by games where the PBR staff and multiple colleges had the chance to watch them in game situations.    

Today we look at the senior middle infielders from the event. Though many of them are skilled two-way players, they will be covered here as middle infielders only, having already been covered as pitchers. All batters started with 1-1 counts and all exit velos were taken from a tee.

Senior Middle Infielders

Alexander Andrews SS / RHP / Edmond Santa Fe, OK / 2018 A 5-foot-9, 154-pound lean frame with plenty of room to add size and strength. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from a slightly open and back leg heavy stance with rhythm throughout. Uses a moderate hanging leg kick and hand load, bat path is flat to contact with a high finish, some length. In BP, shows a middle of the field and flat approach with occasional lift to the pull side, almost all barrels. Exit velo of 81 mph. Runs a 7.19 60. Defensively, shows consistent, clean, and confident actions, above average feet and hands, and makes the slow roller play with athleticism. Throws from multiple slot with ease, one of the only infielders to complete every throw not only in the showcase, but in the game as well, very accurate, 76 mph across the diamond. In the game, made multiple defensive plays, including a web gym slow roller play, and drew two walks.

Scout Capps 2B / 3B / Dale, OK / 2018 A 6-foot-2, 190-pound lean frame with strength and room to add more. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from a slightly open, front foot heavy, and athletic set-up with some rhythm in his hands. Uses a big and smooth load and a moderate stride for timing, hands are flat to the ball with a high finish and excellent extension. In BP, shows a flat, pull side approach with occasional lift, high-end strength and bat speed, mostly barrels. Impressive exit velo of 94 mph. Runs a 7.38 60. Defensively, shows active feet, aggressive actions, and above average hands. May profile best at 3B with his frame and strength at the next level. Throws from a high-¾ slot with excellent accuracy, completing every throw to first, 77 mph across the diamond. In the game, showed good discipline at the plate, and put a few good swings on balls.

Grant Harrison SS / RHP / Jones, OK / 2018 A 5-foot-9, 150-pound lean frame with quick twitch actions and plenty of room to add size and strength. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from a narrow, upright, and relaxed set-up with rhythm in his hands. Uses a big leg kick and hand pump load, hands are short to the ball with quickness, bat path is flat through extension. In BP, shows a flat approach in the pull gap with occasional lift, mostly barrels. Exit velo of 85 mph. Runs a 6.91. Defensively, shows clean, consistent, and confident actions with advanced hands. Shows an advanced arm across the diamond, 86 mph, with excellent accuracy, completing every throw. In the game, showed an aggressive approach at the plate with some good swings.

Hunter Hughes 2B / 3B / Am-Po , OK / 2018 A  5-foot-10, 175-pound frame with some strength. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from an even, balanced, and athletic set-up with some rhythm in his hands. Uses a slight coil and hands load and short stride, hands are very short and quick to the ball, flat bat path through extension. In BP, shows a middle of the field, flat approach, mostly barrels, good bat speed. Exit velo of 88 mph. Runs a 7.04 60. Defensively, shows confident and clean actions with well above average feet. Throws from a high-¾ slot with accuracy, 75 mph across the diamond. Also very comfortable in the outfield. In the game, singled through the 6 hole.

Adler Isbell SS / C / Lincoln Christian, OK / 2018 A lean 6-foot, 170-pound frame with room to add size and strength. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from an even, balanced, and athletic stance with rhythm in his high set hands. Uses a moderate hanging leg kick at times and a reverse toe tap at others, drags his hands through a flat path to contact with a very high finish, some length. In BP, shows a true all field approach, mostly flat, mostly barrels. Exit velo of 85 mph. Runs a 7.01 60. Defensively, shows confident and aggressive actions with active feet and above average hands. Throws from multiple slots, some stiffness at times, some accuracy, 74 mph across the diamond.

Tyler Stevenson SS / OF / Muldrow, OK / 2018 A 5-foot-10, 160-pound proportional build. Offensively, the left-handed hitter bats from an open and upright set-up with rhythm in his hands. Uses a quick and moderate leg kick, drops his hands a bit and pulls them through a slightly uphill path, some length. In BP, shows a opposite field approach with lift, found a few barrels. Exit velo of 82 mph. Runs a 7.02 60. Defensively, shows deliberate and controlled actions with average hands and feet. Throws from a ¾ slot with a loose arm, some accuracy, 70 mph across the diamond.

Mason Tittle 2B / SS / Morris , OK / 2018  A 5-foot-11, 150-pound frame with room to continue to put on size and strength. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from a wide, slightly open, balanced, and quiet set-up. Uses a smooth load and small hand pump with an arm-bar, launches hands with some quickness on a slightly uphill with a high finish, some length.  In BP, shows a pull-gap approach with some lift, mostly barrels. Exit velo of 78 mph. Runs a 6.96 60. Defensively, shows confident actions with above average hands and feet, makes the slow roller play with athleticism. Throws from multiple arm slots, some accuracy, 76 mph across the diamond. In the game, put a couple good swings on an upper 80’s fastball.
