OK Spring Scout Blog: Scrimmages and Week 1
March 9, 2020
PBR OK strives to be the most comprehensive source of player information across the state. The Prep Baseball Report is the No. 1 resource for high school baseball in each state we cover through our variety of events, boots-on-the-ground scouting staff, daily coverage, and multimedia platforms. Our multimedia platforms and events work in tandem, ultimately creating the most powerful source of high school baseball promotion in each state. While other organizations take a national approach, our goal is to become the authoritative voice on the ground level of Oklahoma.
This spring, PBR OK will bring you highlights and scouting reports on stand out uncommitted players, draft prospects, and even a few committed players that have big days. You can see a players full profile by clicking on their name. Most recent reports are at the bottom.
Scrimmages
Norman vs Tuttle
Cade Horton, SS/RHP, 2020, Norman HS
The Oklahoma commit has a 6-foot-2, 185-pound frame with athleticism and some strength. On the mound, the right-hander works from a slightly up-tempo delivery with rhythm and high leg kick before gliding down the mound and finishing to the first base side. Am action is long, clean, and quick in the back before coming through a high-¾ slot with elite arm speed. Fastball kept its plane at 90-92 mph with above average command to both sides of the dish. Slider varied in shape at 77-80 mph at times with tight and late 10/4 shape other times with bigger near 12/6 shape, thrown for strikes and as a chase pitch. In the game, Horton punched out five in three innings of work, allowing two runs, one earned, on three hits. Offensively, the right-handed hitter laced a single into left-field in his second at bat.
