Season Outlook
The Elgin Owls will come into the spring looking for a fourth straight year with 25 or more wins. They return seven starters from last year’s squad with three arms that threw for more than 15 innings a piece. The Owls will be a senior led group, including two four year starters Jordan Pilgrim and Ryan Hildner.

On the mound, Elgin will be lead by junior right-hander Jaken Snider. Snider features a mid 80’s two-seam fastball along with a slider, commanding both.  Two more senior right-handers, Dylan McDonald and Corbin Ramos (St. Gregory), will likely also find themselves in the rotation. Both are consistent strike throwers. Jacob Dawson and Jackson Beach will both look to have a breakout years and help the Owls in a big way on the mound.  Newcomer Chase Deflippo could see some important innings as well if his development continues.

Offensively, Elgin will likely feature the left-handed hitting Pilgrim towards the top of the order along with Hilder. They will set the table for McDonald,Snider, and senior Ian Bosley who will provide some pop to middle of the order. Beach along with two newcomers to the lineup this year,  T.J. Neidert and Lance Bianchini, will play important rolls as well.

Defensively, Pilgrim will lead the way from center field with good routes and a very accurate arm. Joining Pilgrim in the outfield will be another strong defender in Beach.Behind the dish, though just a sophomore, Trevor Bianchini will likely handle most of the catching duties. The infield could see a rotation of players including Snider, McDonald, and Hildner playing multiple positions.
