From flamethrowers who light up the radar gun, to big bats who can leave the yard at any time, to lightning quick athletes with jaw-dropping 60 times, the 2027 class is full of standout prospects. Over the next few days we'll be diving into which seniors have seperated themselves from the pack with their advanced tools.

Today we'll be highlighting the seniors who have proven to be the state's top athletes, looking at four different athletic testing metrics to determine the best of the 2027 class. 

To do this, we've combed through the metrics from all of our events over recent years and will rank the top 20 seniors in each category. From there, a scoring system will be used to award points to each player based on their ranking, with 1st place receiving 20 points, 2nd place recieving 19 points etc. In the event of a tie, all involved players will split the points for those positions equally. (EX: Two players tied for first place would each receive 19.5 points) After each category has been ranked, we'll add up each player's points, with whoever ends up with the most points being crowned the winner.

Max Vertical Jump Height

Talon Scott (Weatherford HS, Uncommitted) runs away with the top spot in vertical jump, beating out second place Tommy Lord (Bishop Kelley HS, Uncommitted) by over two inches as the only 2027 to break the 30 inch plateau. Lord was joined by four other seniors who cracked the 29 inch mark, led by Ryker Johnson (Cashion HS, Uncommitted) at 29.5 inches.

Max RSI

Jaxon Marshall (Edmond Santa Fe HS, Blinn JC Commit) takes the top spot in Max RSI to add to a strong resume after a top 15 finish in vertical jump. Hunter Bertram (North Rock Creek HS, Uncommitted), Ryan Angell (Sapulpa HS, Uncommitted) and Titus Hawk (Choctaw HS, Notre Dame Commit) crash the party in the top five as well to kickstart their campaigns for the title of best athlete in the class.

60-YD Dash

Keon Young (Enid HS, Oklahoma State Commit) edges out the rest of the pack in the 60-YD dash, claiming the top spot by just 0.01 seconds. Easton Selden (Jenks HS, Uncommitted) and Preston Kutej (Moore HS, Uncommitted) claim their second top-five finishes to put their names squarely in the running for the top spot in the final tally.

Max Sprint Speed (MPH)

Along with plenty of familiar faces at the top of the leaderboard, guys like Koen Isaacson (Edmond Memorial HS, Uncommitted) and Traylon Barnes (Tuttle HS, Oral Roberts Commit) cap off strong overall showings with impressive numbers in our final category. Ty Jordan (Panama HS, Seminole State JC Commit) and Jefferson Hodge (Washington HS, Uncommitted) go back-to-back with top-ten finishes to make a late push as well.
