PBR CANADA MIZUNO PROSPECTS OF THE WEEK

BRITISH COLUMBIA

Armaan Drar RHP / SS / Argyle Secondary, BC / 2023

Drar, an uncommitted 6’0 155lbs RHP/SS for the North Shore Twins had a great showing in Florida with an arm that caught a lot of people’s attention. On the mound the arm was long and whippy with good movement on all his pitches. The curveball stood out with late break to it and a spin rate that has been up to 2470rpm. Has a very athletic build to his body that is still growing. One of the more interesting arms in the class of 2023 that will be a steal for a program that is looking for an arm to add to their pitching staff.

ATLANTIC

Mitchell Noseworthy 1B / 3B / Gonzaga , NL / 2023

Noseworthy, a 6’1 205lbs corner infielder for Premier Sports Academy had a loud bat at the plate in Panama City Florida during spring training. During his set up the hands starting low and staying on plane until contact. The lower half stands out as well with aggressive hip action during contact. In the field his feet move well side to side. Can see him being at first base at the college level with his tall frame. Hit one of the farthest balls during the week for a long homerun to the pull side. Expect a lot of programs to jump on Noseworthy to add a solid bat to their lineup.

ONTARIO

Ethan Price RHP / OF / St.Stephen Catholic Secondary School, ON / 2022

Price, a 5’10 150lbs Cloud County CC commit out of Oshawa Baseball has taken one of the biggest jumps in velocity for his class. He was a standout down at PBR Spring Training with a fastball that got up to 90 MPH. The arm action is long and quick with good drive off of his back leg. The curveball displays good depth to it that will compliment his fastball nicely. Really looking forward to watching Price this summer as we expect him to continue taking big strides in his game.

ALBERTA

Mathieu Morin C / SS / Bellerose Composite, MI / 2022

Morin, a 5’10, 172lbs C/SS for the South Oakland A’s program had one of the better overall weeks in Florida will a lot of base hits to all parts of the field. At the plate the swing is simple but efficient with not too many moving parts. The hands work well with the swing as it was hard for pitchers to get Morin out all week. Behind the plate the arm stood out big time as it was one of the strongest arms we saw, the transfer was short and quick and the footwork looked smooth. Definitely one of the more interesting uncommitted players left on the board for the class of 2022.

QUEBEC

Remi Lemay OF / SS / Chene-Bleu, QC / 2023

Lemay, a 5’11 180lbs uncommitted 2024 out of the ABC baseball program has some major tools to offer on both sides of the field. At the plate Lemay has a smooth and explosive swing from the left side with some pop to the pull side. Has a simple approach with lots of loud barrels to the gaps. The Barrel whips through the zone fast with a flat bat on contact. In the outfield the arm is live with a long loose arm action. Had a great showing at the ABC Pro day and will be player to watch out for schools looking for an outfielder that can swing it.
