Ohio Insider: 2018 Northern Ohio Prospect Games - Sneak Peek

Day 1

Top Arms

Cole Weiss RHP / 1B / Chagrin Falls, OH / 2019

Very physical presence on the mound at 6-foot-3, 208-pounds. Stuff across the board was sharper than we saw in the winter. Drop and drive type guy that works with an uptempo pace. Creates good direction and energy down the mound with lower half. Long loose arm through a high-¾ slot, offering both strength and above average arm speed. Fastball is heavy on a downward plane at 82-85 mph, topping at 87 mph. Filled up the zone with the offering and isn’t afraid to work in. Tosses a quality, 11/5 shaped breaking ball at 70-71 mph. Used the offering to get ahead of hitter. The sharper of the two breaking balls was the slider. The pitch has good depth and sharp action across the plate, freezing multiple right-handed bats. Dominant performance that will have his stock on the rise.
