District 10 Class aaa championship:  Slippery Rock vs Warren

Cody StephensonBack to back doubles in the bottom of the 2nd inning got Slippery Rock off to a quick 2-0 lead, but Warren responded with six runs in the top of the 3rd. Fortunately for Slippery Rock, senior RHP Cody Stephenson did not allow any further damage.

The unsigned senior tossed five consecutive scoreless innings from the 4th inning on allowing the Rockets to get back into the game with a run in the bottom of the 3rd and three more runs to tie it at six in the bottom of the 5th. The game remained deadlocked until Stephenson took matters into his own hands with one out and runners on first and second in the bottom of the 9th inning. Following a meeting at the mound, Stephenson drove the first pitch he saw from relief pitcher Tanner Teconchuk into the left center field gap for a walk-off double and the first District 10 title in Slippery Rock baseball history.

Stephenson ended up getting the winning hit and the win on the mound working nine innings and yielding four earned runs on eight hits.
