Eastern PA Top Prospect Showcase Results



The first showcase for the eastern portion of Pennsylvania took place today at In the Net Sports Complex in Palmyra, PA. This event was the second showcase in as many days to begin the summer schedule for PBR Pennsylvania.

The top performer at today's showcase was Deon Stafford (Lower Dauphin), Class of 2014, who showed a live arm topping out at 79mph in defensive evaluations from behind the plate. Stafford squared up balls consistently and drove pitches to all fields.

Nearly as impressive was 6-foot-5, 185-pound, RHP Eric Ligda who topped out at 83mph with a solid split finger fastball and control of three pitches. Ligda is a Class of 2014 prospect from Avon Grove.

Garrett Blank (St. James School, MD), a 6-foot-2, 190-pound catcher from Carlisle, PA showed excellent receiving and blocking skills. Blank shows potential as a power hitter, and ran one of the fastest 60 yard dash times of the day. In addition Blank had the top bat exit speed velocity of the day.

One of the most impressive rounds of batting practice was turned in by Shane Connahan, (Midd-West), Class of 2014. The outfielder had one of the top bat exit speed velocities of the day, consistently squared up the baseball, and sprayed line drive to all fields.

Joe Thompson, from Avon Grove, demonstrated excellent control of three pitches and very good movement. The Class of 2014 lefty showed very good separation of velocity on his different pitches and the ability to throw all from similar arm angles and arm speeds.
