Elite Prospect Showcase Spotlight: 3B/RHP Justin Wright

Justin WrightThere are just over two months until PBR Pennsylvania's Elite Prospect Showcase on November 7th at Keystone State Baseball Academy in Manheim. Today, we highlight Hempfield Area 2018 3B/RHP Justin Wright in the second in a series of previews on prospects who will be in attendance.

The 6-foot-1, 170-pound Wright has added two inches and fifteen pounds to his frame since he jumped on our radar nearly two years ago. At the PBR Pennsylvania Top Prospect Games this summer, he exhibited a short, easy right-handed stroke in which he stayed balanced and his hands worked well. He projects as a solid hitter for average with a chance for some power (90-mph exit velocity) as well. Defensively, he plays low to the ground, showing good feet and actions, along with solid arm strength (81-mph across the diamond).

On the mound, Wright worked with a fastball that topped out at 80-mph and had some deception due to a hip coil over the rubber and short arm action. He also featured a curveball at 68-70 and exhibited quick feet on pickoff attempts.
