A little less than a month remains until PBR Pennsylvania's Elite Prospect Showcase on October 29th at Keystone State Baseball Academy in Manheim. Today, we continue a series of previews on prospects who will be in attendance, as we highlight North Hills 2018 SS/RHP Steven Miller.
The 6-foot-1, 175-pound sophomore stood out with a solid skill set at the Western PA Top Prospect Games in June.
The right-handed hitter starts from a square stance. Miller's hands work and his athleticism should create additional barrel whip when the underclassman learns to better incorporate his lower half. He went 3-for-6 in game action and ran a 6.84 60-yard dash. Miller flashed athletic, fluid actions defensively with a quick release and more than enough arm strength to remain on the left side of the infield (83 mph).
The righty sat 82-84 from a high 3/4 arm slot on the mound while mixing in a 70 mph curveball with 11/5 rotation in one inning of work during game action.
