Future Prospect Spotlight: Christian Fedko

By Greg Williams
PA Director of Scouting

The Beaver Valley Baseball program has produced some extremely talented baseball players over the years, none more accomplished than current Pittsburgh Pirates second baseman Neil Walker. The program has had help along the way from former Pirate manager Jim Leyland and it produced Brendan McKay, the current No. 5 ranked player in the PA Class of 2014.

Christian FedkoThe next Beaver Valley protege that just might make a splash is 8th grader Christian Fedko. The 5-foot-10, 185-pound 14 year old will be a freshman at Vincentian Academy in Pittsburgh next year and based on his success on the national travel baseball circuit, he is likely to become one of the top recruits in the PA Class of 2017.

Fedko is a 3B/RHP who has been named a 1st Team Travel Baseball Select All-American the past two summers and was one of 89 players selected to compete for a roster spot on the 14U USA Baseball team this past August. Fedko got his start playing with Beaver Valley, but has since branched out. He played last summer with the Ohio Glaciers helping them win the 13U Triple Crown World Series in Colorado Springs in July. Fedko also walked away as the champion of the Home Run Derby in a field of 104 participants. He will be very active this summer in his final season of baseball prior to his freshman year of high school. He will play at different points in the summer for Chandler Baseball, Ohio Elite and for Team California Elite.
