A complete game outing on the mound from junior Noah Weber combined with a 14 hit attack propelled Governor Mifflin to a second Berks County Championship in as many years on Wednesday.
Weber was in complete control all night limiting the Eagles to five hits. The right-hander walked two and struck out four. Weber only allowed three runners to reach scoring position.
Two first inning runs proved to be all the Mustangs would need. Chad Kleinsmith led off with a single advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt and scored on Ajay Sczepkowski's single. Catcher Earl Kochel followed with a sacrifice fly, one of two on the evening, to drive in the Mustangs' second run.
Governor Mifflin put the game away with five runs in the middle innings and added two insurance runs in the 6th to win going away.
Kleinsmith (3-4, 2 R, RBI), Sczepkowski (3-4, 2B, 3 RBI), Hunter Reeser (2-4, 2 RBI), Kochel (1-2, 2 RBI) and Phillip Henry (2-3, 2B, RBI) accounted for 11 of the Governor Mifflin hits.
