Impact 2019's From Updated Rankings
November 22, 2017
The class of 2019 is less than a year away from being the focal point of the scouting world, and players have already started making themselves known as ones to watch in the summer of 2018, and moving forward. This week, On the Hunt, takes a look at some of the top, committed players who shined throughout the summer and fall seasons. The class is filled with high-end pitching as well as physical, athletic position players. Below are ten players from Florida, Indiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Texas.
Sam Siani OF / LHP / William Penn Charter, PA / 2019
It can be difficult to stand out with an older brother who is one of the top 2018 high school prospects in the nation (Mike Siani), but Sam Siani has done just that. The hard-swinging left-handed hitting outfielder has continued to perform at all major events throughout the summer and fall. As I locked in on Siani at the Underclass Area Code Games at the end of August, I couldn’t help but to see the striking similarities to his brother as he showcased lightning quick hands through the zone, and attacked pitches with fervent intent. A Duke recruit, Siani stands a high-waisted, athletic, 5-foot-11, 170-pounds with proportional strength throughout and projects to fill out even more in the future where his gap and pull side power will be aided even more. His strong wrists allow him to flick the bat through the zone on an uphill plane, and the ball sounds different coming off his bat. A gifted athlete, Siani may have a chance to stick in centerfield moving forward. Overall, it is impressive to see the work that Siani has put in pay off, and he appears to be very much on the rise as a prospect.
