Loyalsock Township Among 16-Team NHSI Field

By Greg Williams
PA Director of Scouting

It was evident that the Loyalsock Township Lancers had a wealth of young talent heading into the 2013 high school season. A core group of 2015 graduates along with a nucleus of returning juniors placed Loyalsock on the short list of teams favored to make a run at a Pennsylvania Class 2A title. What that core group of now seniors has accomplished may have even surpassed their expectations.

Loyalsock has ridden the right arm of Kyle Datres to back-to-back state titles and appear primed for a run at a three-peat in 2015. The North Carolina recruit is just one of five seniors on the Loyalsock roster that have made college commitments heading into their final high school season.

The Lancers will prime themselves for their latest run toward state gold by opening the season in the National High School Invitational at the home of USA Baseball in Cary, NC.
