WPIAL Playoff Scores:

Neshannock 6,  Our Lady of the Sacred Heart 1
Florida State commit, John Sansone, hit a two-run home run in the sixth inning to put this game out of reach. Neshannock will play in the WPIAL Class A Championship.

California 2, Bentworth 1 (9 innings)
TD Conway pitched all nine innings to get the win.  The righthander scattered six hits and one walk while striking out 14 batters.
Tyler Delval struck out 13 and walked just one in taking the loss for Bentworth.

Riverside 2,  Shady Side 1
Riverside moves on to the WPIAL AA Championship game against Ellwood City.  Rob Hardy pitched his second consecutive complete game for the win.

No. 21 Ellwood City 14,  South Fayette 11
Ellwood City will play Riverside in the WPIAL AA finals.

Blackhawk 1,  Thomas Jefferson 0 (9 innings)
In an instant classic, Blackhawk topped Thomas Jefferson 1-0 in 9 innings.  Brendan McKay, the No. 2 ranked player in the Class of 2014, pitched a complete game 2 hitter with 15 strikeouts to get the win.  He outdueled Pitt commit, Greg Schneider, who also gave up two hits with 15 strikeouts.

Belle Vernon 9,  No. 4 Hopewell 8
A bases loaded, full count walk was the deciding blow as Belle Vernon beat Hopewell to advance to the WPIAL Class AAA Championship game.

Mt. Lebanon 3,  North Allegheny 2
Brad Bekampis gave the Blue Devils an early 2-0 lead with a two-out, two-run single in the first inning.  Pat Goff’s RBI double in the third inning scored Ian Happ and increased the Blue Devils advantage to 3-0. Starting pitcher Mike Duffy earned the victory for the Blue Devils and Ian Happ picked up the save by retiring the final four batters of the game.

No. 14 Central Catholic,  No. 9 Seneca Valley
Seneca Valley leads 2-0 in the bottom of the 3rd inning.  The game was suspended due to lightning and will be completed on Tuesday.


District 6 Playoff Scores:

Philipsburg-Osceola 8,  Ligonier Valley 6
PO will now play on Friday night in the District 6 Class AA Championship game.

Bishop Guilfoyle 5, Williamsburg 3
Jextin Pugh, the No. 1 ranked player in the class of 2013 by Prep Baseball Report, pitched a complete game and hit a two-run home run to lead BG to the District 6 Class A Championship game this Friday.


District 10 Playoff Scores:

Conneaut Lake 15,  Eisenhower 5
The Lake rapped out 18 hits as a team en route to the shortened, mercy rule victory.  Conneaut Lake will move on to face Mercyhurst Prep in the District 10 Class A semi-final round.

Linesville 10,  Cochranton 7
Facing a team for a third time in a season is never easy. Linesville proved the theory to be true by downing Cochranton, who had topped them twice during region play, to reach the District 10 semi-finals.


District 3 Playoff Scores:

West York 9,  Big Spring 3
With the win, West York (18-3) moves on. Big Spring ends its season at 13-8.

No. 11 Cedar Crest 3,  Cedar Cliff 1
Logan Fullmer and Cameron Mathis combined to throw a four-hitter for Cedar Crest (18-4). Cedar Cliff’s season ends at 10-12.

Southwestern 3,  Solanco 0
Southwestern (14-7) moves on while Solanco’s season comes to an end at 15-7.

Wilson West Lawn 4,  Spring Grove 1
Wilson (15-5) moves to second round action with the win.  Spring Grove (13-8) sees its season come to an end.

No. 23 Lancaster Catholic 9,  Northern Lebanon 8
Northern Lebanon ends the season at 14-8, while Lancaster Catholic (20-4) moves on to the next round.

No. 15 Hempfield 10,  Governor Mifflin 4
Hempfield (19-3) moves on while Governor Mifflin (11-10) sees its season come to an end.

No. 12 Hershey 3,  Donegal 2
Hershey (22-1) used a run in the bottom of the eighth inning to down Donegal (14-8).

Kutztown 3,  No. 25 Pequea Valley
Fresh off its upset win in the championship game of the Lancaster-Lebanon League, Pequea Valley suffered an upset of its own in a loss to Kutztown to end its season.
