Spring weather is often sporadic at best and 2016 has been no different. Penn Manor left-handed pitcher Jeff Taylor, a Penn State commit, has been anything but. The 6-foot-1, 180-pound junior, currently ranked No. 47 in the PA Class of 2017, has gone 3-0 to date with a 0.00 ERA. Taylor has worked 18 innings and has struck out 30 while allowing just six hits. On Monday Taylor added his third win in his third start of the season, a 2-1 Penn Manor win over Warwick, allowing just three hits with twelve punch outs.
Taylor headlines a talented Comets' pitching staff that lost for the first time on Friday (2-1 to Hempfield). Through six games Comets pitchers have surrendered just two earned runs, six total, for a team ERA of 0.33. The staff has combined to strike out 54 batters while giving up just 17 hits.
