Today we continue our analysis of the prospects in attendance by taking a look at the outfielders in attendance. (Note: each player will be listed during the course of this series of articles at their primary position. An evaluation of a secondary position will be included if the player attended as a two-way prospect)

Outfielders

Jordan Art, Lakeland HS (PA), Class of 2017
6-foot, 165-pound right-handed hitter starts from an open stance and utilizes a leg lift stride to initiate his swing. Hands work well through contact and junior shows gap-power potential with a bat exit velocity of 86 mph. Art moves well in the outfield (7.07 60-yard dash) and showed solid straight-line carry on throws of 81 mph.

Pitched out of a high-three quarter slot from a stop-and-start delivery with a soft stab out of the glove into an otherwise clean arm action. Both 4-sean and 2-seam FB sat 78-79, with the latter exhibiting solid armside run. Secondary stuff included two breaking balls with short break -- a CB at 70-71 and a SL at 72-73 -- along with a fading low-70s CH.

Ryan Bealer, North Penn HS (PA), Class of 2018
5-foot-11, 155-pound right-handed hitter has added to his frame in past year and posted increased measurables across-the-board. Starts his swing from a square stance and triggers his swing with a short lift-and-replace stride. Line drive approach with an 83 mph bat exit velocity will continue to improve with additional strength gains. Bealer ran a 6.88 60-yard dash and displayed accurate 75 mph arm strength from his outfield position.

Tracy Carr, Dallastown Area HS (PA), Class of 2018
5-foot-7, 150-pounder plays much bigger than his size would suggest. Right-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance and attacks the baseball from a high hands load with a leg-lift stride. Carr displayed solid balance and a still head throughout with a bat exit velocity of 91 mph. The sophomore ran a 6.72 60-yard dash and displayed athletic actions defensively with accurate 82 mph arm strength.

Devon Garner, Daniel Boone HS (PA), Class of 2017
6-foot, 175-pound right-handed hitter displayed a quiet load and short, lift-and-replace stride with a direct swing path. Garner showed above average feel for the barrel and creates above average barrel whip (90 mph) with solid lower half action. The junior ran a 7.03 60-yard dash and displayed capable actions defensively with an accurate 79 mph arm from the outfield.

Kyle Hess, Donegal HS (PA), Class of 2018
6-foot, 175-pound left-handed hitter has plenty of fast-twitch projectability to his actions. Sophomore has recently closed his stance considerably and shortened his stride to take advantage of above average hands. Additional work to clear his lower half to allow his hands to work freely should lead to additional power potential. Hess registered an 89 mph bat exit velocity and ran a 6.70 60-yard dash. The sophomore moves well defensively and displayed 82 mph arm strength from the outfield.

Nate Hess, Warwick HS (PA), Class of 2017
5-foot-10, 160-pound right-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance and initiates a his swing with a leg-lift stride. The sophomore ran a 6.90 60-yard dash and flashed athletic actions defensively with accurate 82 mph arm strength from the outfield. Kline sat 77-79 during his bullpen session out of a high 3/4 arm slot with some hip coil to his delivery. The righty also showed command of a 69 mph slider and a 70 mph changeup with some fade.

Nick Maiorano, West Chester Rustin HS (PA), Class of 2018
6-foot-2, 185-pound right-handed hitter starts from a wide, square stance and initiates his swing with a heel-raise stride. Showcased some lift and future power potential with a bat exit velocity of 84 mph. Maiorano ran a 7.13 60-yard dash and displayed solid carry on throws of 85 mph from the outfield.

The primary outfielder sat 77-80 out of a high 3/4 arm slot during his bullpen session. Swings lead leg into stack position leading to difficulty repeating balance point. Curveball sat 69-71 mph with rolling 11/5 shape. Changeup is thrown at 70-72 with some late fade. With a physical frame and across the board athletic actions Maiorano projects to add significant velocity over the next three years.

Evan Marushak, Emmaus HS (PA), Class of 2018
5-foot-11, 170-pound left-handed hitter starts from a square stance with a high hands load. A short leg-lift stride initiates his swing with hands that work well through contact. Marushak will need to continue to develop his lower half actions to better clear his hands and allow his hands to work. The sophomore registered a bat exit velocity of 85 mph and ran a 7.07 60-yard dash. Marushak displayed athletic defensive actions with solid straight line carry on throws of 83 mph from the outfield.

Jacoby Pate, Susquehanna HS (PA), Class of 2017
5-foot-9, 155-pound left-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance and utilizes a short lift-and-replace stride from a deep hand load to initiate his swing. The displayed a line drive approach with a bottom hand dominated swing with a bat exit velocity of 80 mph. Pate ran a 6.87 60-yard dash and displayed 78 mph arm strength with some cut action from the outfield.

Utilized a compact delivery with a stab out of the glove into an over-the-top slot. FB sat 72-74, touching 75, with occasional cut. Best pitch was a solid mid-60s 12/6 CB with some depth for which he showed a good feel and command. Also showed a straight CH with occasional sink at 69-71 that was firm relative to his FB, and a SL that was virtually indistinguishable from his curveball on this day.

Mark Peterson, Hempfield HS (PA), Class of 2017
6-foot, 170-pound right-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance. Initiates his swing with a leg lift stride and utilizes a flat barrel path through the zone. Peterson displayed a solid feel for the barrel with a bat exit velocity of 75 mph. The junior ran a 7.02 60-yard dash and showed 80 mph arm strength from his outfield position with a hitch in his throwing motion.

Tyler Schreiner, Northwestern Lehigh HS (PA), Class of 2017
6-foot-1, 180-pound left-handed hitter. Starts from a square stance and utilizes a short lift-and-replace stride to initiate his swing. The junior displayed an above average feel for the barrel, good balance and rhythm, and hands that work extremely well through contact. Schreiner ran a 6.76 60-yard dash and flashed athletic actions defensively with accurate 79 mph arm strength from the outfield.

John Servello, Hollidaysburg Area HS (PA), Class of 2017
Very physical 6-foot, 195-pound right-handed hitter. Creates significant barrel whip (96 mph bat exit velocity) with physical strength and a flat swing plane. Starts from a square stance and utilizes a high hands load to initiate his swing. Very strong hip turn and full extension after contact allows for present power to all fields. Servello flashed his athleticism by running a 6.94 60-yard dash and displayed advanced arm strength (94 mph) from the outfield.

Delivery with some effort incorporates a sideways rocker step into and over-the-top slot. Gathers on his backside and gets downhill well out of the wind-up. FB sat 86-87, touching 88. Best pitch was a solid 12/6 CB at 69-74 that has a bit of a hump out of his hand, but shows good depth. Still relatively new to the mound, his mid-70s CH is still developing and he struggled to command it in the zone on this day. Quick to the plate in the stretch and didn't give his arm a chance to catch up, causing offerings to ride up out of the zone.

Chase Smith, Central HS - Martinsburg (PA), Class of 2017
Strong 5-foot-10, 170-pound right-handed hitter. Starts from square, utilizing a toe-tap stride to initiate his swing with a pronounced lift in his swing. Ball jumps of his barrel with a bat exit velocity of 86 mph. Smith ran a 6.95 60-yard dash and flashed 78 mph arm strength from the outfield. Demonstrates a hard nosed, bulldog mentality.
