Q and A with Jextin Pugh RHP/1B, Bishop Guilfoyle HS

               Jextin Pugh

PBR:  Where are you in the process of deciding on a college?

I am not ready to make a commitment at this point.  I think choosing a college is a very big decision and I want to make sure that I am truly ready before committing.

PBR:  What schools are you currently considering?

The schools that are recruiting me are: Stanford, Arizona State, University of Arizona, University of Oregon, Penn State, University of Miami, University of Maryland, plus many more.

PBR:  Is distance from home a factor in your decision?

Distance is not a factor when I make my decision.  I train hard so I want to make sure I am in a good program that challenges me.

PBR:  Where have college coaches been able to see you?

Most college coaches have seen me when I am on the road with my travel team.  Getting yourself at some big showcases really helps especially if you are interested in schools outside of your home state.

PBR:  What position do you see yourself playing in college?

I am being recruited for RHP and 1B by many schools.  I am a strong power hitter but I am also strong on the mound.

PBR:  What is your biggest strength as a player and how do you feel that will help your team?

My biggest strength is being a team player.  Even though I pitch and play first base I have no problem with playing other positions.  You do whatever it takes to win games.

PBR:  Who do you play for in the summer and what was your most memorable experience from this past summer?

I play for Flood City Elite, Altoona Pa. My most memorable experience was when our team played at the Perfect Game showcase in Georgia.  We were really excited because this was our first trip there and we did really well.  Our record was 4-1-1.   Plus we had a blast rafting down the Chattahoochee!

PBR:  What is your current GPA?

My current GPA is 3.3

PBR:  What are your plans for your junior season and the summer of 2012?

I am looking forward to my high school spring season.  I will also be doing a lot of traveling this summer playing and visiting schools.
