The top prospect in Pennsylvania’s 2015 class is off the recruiting board. SS/RHP Kyle Datres (Loyalsock HS, PA) announced his verbal commitment to North Carolina this week, making him the eighth player in the state’s top 15 to commit to an ACC program.

“It feels great,” Datres said. “I feel like I found the right place for me and I'm excited to get there and get going. I felt comfortable when I was there. I felt like I fit right in. Hopefully I can go there and have success.”

A three-sport athlete, Datres said Virginia, Virginia Tech and Vanderbilt were also in the mix. As a freshman, Datres was an all-conference quarterback, a member of the basketball team that won a district championship and the starting shortstop for Loyalsock. He can pitch in the high 80s and has a good, quick swing.
