Saegertown Panthers Dominant to Date

They are undefeated (11-0), they have outscored their opponents 119-5, they are hitting .421 as a team, they have hit 11 homeruns.  The numbers jump out at you.  Impressive as the numbers may be, maybe even more impressive is that they have accomplished all of this with just one senior on their roster.

Ryan Paden, the loan member of the senior class, is definitely carrying his weight.  Paden is batting .462, with four homeruns and 12 RBI.  He is one of the top pitchers on the roster and the only left handed thrower on the team. His contributions have been substantial, but the rest of the 14 player roster have held their own as well, and they all return for next year.

Leading the way so far in 2012 have been sophomore catcher Tyler Walters (.556, 4 homeruns, 21 RBI), sophomore outfielder Kyle Wise (.550, 2 homeruns, 13 runs scored), junior shortstop Stephen Sada (.462, 17 runs, 11 stolen bases) and a host of other sophomores and juniors with similar offensive statistics.

With a second round of games against teams in their region that have already led to these types of numbers, the season ending totals could be eye popping.  The defending District 10 AA Champions have goals that reach beyond District 10 and Western Pennsylvania.  If they continue to put up these types of numbers at trip to State College in June for the PIAA Championships could be a reality.
