Billy Gregory is a 5-foot-11, 155-pound RHP/SS from Wyoming Valley West HS who has shown excellent potential at two events this winter. Gregory is an athletic prospect who has demonstrated good feet and a 78 mph arm across the infield. He has a clean exchange and good carry on throws from several arm slots.
Gregory showed a big upside during his most recent bullpen session at the Preseason All-State Showcase. He topped at 82 mph from a 3/4 arm slot while commanding all three pitches with solid movement. His fastball showed good late life with significant arm side run. Gregory's changeup shows less run, but has a good separation of velocity at 74 mph and is thrown at fastball arm speed. His 71 mph frisbee slider was by far his best pitch and had impressive 9/3 break. The fact that Gregory throws all three pitches with the same rhythm and out of the same arm slot will make him effective.
Gregory has an athletic frame and appears to be far from his mature size at this point . If he can maintain the same movement on his pitches with inevitable velocity gains Gregory will be a high follow among right-handed pitchers in this class.
