Top Performer Report

In the morning session of our Preseason All State event in Monroeville, we saw nearly 70 players come in and showcase their tools. Many players showed out, but Kaden Hathaway stole the show. All eyes were on the freshman 3B/RHP in every segment of the showcase. Hathaway started the day posting a 6.88 laser timed 60 yard dash. The '25 grad has added weight since the last time we saw him in July. Hathaway now profiles nicely with long limbs and some muscle on the frame. The RHH got in the box and put on a laser show with an abundance of barrels and continues to make us guess whether he will bloom into a PO, a true INF, or a legitimate two-way candidate at the next level.  Pushing his case even further for INF consideration, Hathaway had a nice defensive round as he was able to showcase a smooth glove and an athletic lower half. Through a long, swinging arm action, Hathaway ran it up to 86 MPH across the infield with ease. Some time after, Hathaway stepped up on the mound and was absolutely electric. The FB/CB combo for Hathaway will be a lethal mix this season and in the coming years. The freshman tunnels the two pitches very well with similar release points and no bumps in the CB out of the hand. The two pitches remain on plane until nearly 5 feet in front of the plate when the CB falls off the table. There will be much more velo expected as he continues to mature and feel his mechanics even more. Currently the FB sits around 82-84 MPH but can get up to 86 MPH when he wants to. The SL and CH could use some work, but as we all know, both pitches are ones that require great feel for. Hathaway will polish those pitches up as he gets more reps with them, which would slate him as a 4 pitch mix right handed arm. There is a lot to look forward to in Hathaway in all facets of the game. Stay tuned this spring for more updates on the '25 stand out and many more high school players as we pump out HS coverage on our twitter!
