Top Prospect Games Spotlight on RHP Dan Furman

Dan Furman

Dan Furman, ranked No. 57 in the Class of 2013, will follow up a solid summer season with an appearance at the PA Top Prospect Games in October. Furman is a 6-foot, 185-pound RHP from Monsignor Bonner HS. The unsigned senior had a stellar summer travel baseball season that culminated with two outstanding performances at the WWBA 16U National Finals in East Cobb, GA.

Furman, who is a young senior with room for additional physical maturity, got his tournament started by tossing a complete game no-hitter for the Chester County Crawdads against Pure Hitting Baseball from Peachtree City, Georgia. He returned to the mound in the Crawdads' final pool play game against the No. 4 ranked team in the country, NorCal Valley from Northern California. Furman once again went the distance limiting NorCal to just two runs in the Crawdads 3-2 victory.

Furman sits 84-87 with his fastball and will likely continue to see a spike in his velocity as he continues to grow. He also has good command of his complimentary pitches, throwing a curveball, slider and changeup, all in the low 70's.
