The 2016 Western PA Top Prospect Games will take place on June 14 and 15 at Seton Hill University. The Top Prospect Games have become the premier event of the summer for aspiring college prospects statewide and continue to grow in popularity every year.

For the first time in five years the Top Prospect Games will be divided into two events at two locations for the summer of 2016. The Eastern PA Top Prospect Games will follow the Western PA event on July 19 and 20 at La Salle University.

The Gold Team has the smallest roster of any of the six teams in the event with all but five of its members scheduled to make an appearance on the mound.

Nick LeonardWest Virginia will be well represented on this roster with five of the prospects hailing from the mountain state. 2018 RHP Logan Stump (Independence) is the lone pitcher only on the roster and will get the ball on Tuesday (6/14) to start the game. The 5-foot-11, 175-pound righty is currently ranked No. 6 in the WV Class of 2018. 2018 SS/RHP Nick Leonard (Brooke) and 2017 RHP/3B Austin Crebs (Wheeling Park) will also toe the rubber over the course of the two days. Leonard (right) is currently ranked No. 2 in the WV Class of 2018 and Crebs stepped into the No. 1 starter role at Wheeling Park this year leading the Patriots back to the Class AAA state tournament.

Jordan Page2017 OF Jordan Page (Morgantown) and 2019 C/2B Tanner Lett (Doddridge County) round out the group of West Virginia prospects on the roster. Page is a two-sport athlete that rushed for over 1,000 yards during his junior season. Lett had a breakout freshman season hitting .413 with 12 doubles and a home run.

The roster also includes a pair of very talented 2018 infielders in 2B/SS Michael Turconi (Blackhawk) and 3B/RHP Justin Wright (Hempfield Area). Turconi (below left) has shown above average defensive abilities and a short left-handed stroke that led to a .450 average this past spring. Wright (below right) will represent Team Pennsylvania this summer at the PBR Future Games in Indianapolis, IN.  The 6-foot-1, 190-pound right-handed hitter has shown advanced barrel whip (94 mph bat exit velocity) and solid defensive actions with above average arm strength.

Athletic outfielder Chase Smith (Central) should also impress. The 5-foot-10, 175-pound right-handed hitter has shown significant barrel whip (87 mph bat exit velocity) and runs well (6.92 60-yard dash). The junior is a solid defender with hard-nosed approach to the game.
