Winter College Prospect Showcase (Session Two) - Unsigned Senior Analysis

Session Two of the Winter College Prospect Showcase took place on January 16 at Keystone State Baseball Academy in Manheim, PA. Today we continue our analysis of the prospects in attendance by reviewing the Unsigned Seniors in attendance. CLICK HERE to view complete results for all prospects in attendance.

Blaise RobsonBlaise Robson, OF, John Marshall HS (WV)
6-foot, 165-pound right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and utilizes a lift-and-replace stride to initiate his swing. The senior displayed a short swing path with a line drive approach and a bat exit velocity of 80 mph. Robson ran one of the top 60-yard dash times at the event (6.86) and flashed an accurate 77 mph arm. The West Virginia prospect also plays second base, but only showcased as an outfielder on this date.

Percy MottleyPercy Mottley, OF, Conestoga HS
6-foot-1, 185-pound left-handed hitter showed well in all facets of the game. Mottley starts from a square stance and initiates his swing with a lift and replace stride. The senior flashed quick hands, a solid feel for the barrel and the ability to impart back spin with a bat exit velocity of 87 mph. Mottley ran a 6.94 60-yard dash and flashed 81 mph arm strength from the outfield. Displayed the ability to play through the baseball with a short arm throwing motion that could be improved with a more complete arm circle motion.

Kevin StarnerKevin Starner, 3B, Manheim Central HS
5-foot-10, 175-pound right-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance and initiates his swing from a shallow load with a toe-tap stride. Showed a solid feel for the barrel with an uphill swing path that led to a bat exit velocity of 81 mph. Starner displayed capable actions defensively with accurate 79 mph arm strength. The 7.18 runner has a solid frame and showcased enough athleticism to envision him handling duties as a corner outfielder as well.
