We would like to thank all who participated in PBR Ohio's 2019 Central Ohio Prospect Games. This was a great opportunity for the class of 2020-2023 prospects to be put on college radars. Many players impressed during their individual workouts at the showcase.

2019 Central Ohio Prospect Games - Sneak Peek

The Arms

Allen Laytart LHP / 1B / Genoa, OH / 2020

Body Type: 6-foot-3, 190-pound physical, projectable frame.
Mechanical/Delivery Notes:
Uptempo delivery on the mound that doesn’t require a ton of effort. ¾ left-hander with slinging arm action with looseness to it and above average arm speed, Cross fire type.
Fastball:
77-81 mph. Combination of length/slot create a tough angle for hitters on both sides of the plate. Ball comes out well. Could see more mphs in there.
Slider:
69-70 mph. Above average pitch that sweeps across the zone with sharp action. Solid feel for the offering.
Changeup:
68-69 mph. Quality third offering that is more than playable. Didn’t throw it often but when he did it looked sharp.
Pitchability:
Strike thrower.
Additional Comments:
Definite college future with a chance to improve his stock with potential velo jump. Like the versatility he brings. Could be a matchup lefty out of the bullpen with that slot but the lower effort and feel for three pitches could allow him to start if need be.
