2019 Fall Limited Series At Wright State - Scout Blog

5 Star Midwest

Connor Stout LHP / OF / Turpin, OH / 2021

Report: 6-foot-1 170-pound LHP prospect. On the mound Stout uses a pretty simple delivery and throws from a ¾ arm slot. There is a bit of deception to his delivery as he hides the ball well. The fastball did seem to jump on hitters more than his velo would show. Fastball was 81-84 mph with some life and then flashed a true slider at 74 mph. At the plate Stout swung from the right side and showed a balanced setup with a toe tap load. Seemed to have fairly quick hands and got his barrel through the zone rather efficiently. Was able to swing on plane with the pitch and handled pitches up in the zone and down in the zone well.

Cincy Flames 2023

Chase Gartner LHP / 1B / Randall K. Cooper, KY / 2023

Report: He shows good size and a strong lower half for his young age at 5-10, 175 pounds. In day 2 of games, he was able to find consistent barrels and delivery several RBIs in big situations for his team. Gartner currently possesses solid power potential and with added physical development, will likely see an increase to that power in the coming years.

Kevin Hilton SS / 2B / Elder, OH / 2023

Report: Hilton may be smaller in size at 5-8, 140 pounds, but his athleticism and play on the field makes him hard to miss when watching a game. In the field he showed good range at SS as he was able to make several plays in the hole, which ultimately saved a few runs for his team. At the plate, he started day 2 of games with a leadoff double off the RF wall. He was able to follow that at bat with multiple line drives and gap shots, which showed his ability to drive the ball to numerous parts of the field. As the years progress, he will be a good 2023 prospect to keep an eye on as his game continues to develop.
