Almost Famous: 25 Summer Helium Candidates

Shooter Hunt
Vice President, Scouting

Each summer a new class of MLB Draft hopefuls grabs the reins as the focus shifts to the latest group of prospects. Shifting its focus to a new group of rising seniors, the professional scouting community gets set to receive a new group of budding prospects. Although PBR’s 2024 Top 500 outlines the class with three year’s worth of scouting, the list is an ever evolving analysis, and the summer will likely yield new faces and impressive advancements. Through it all, PBR remains committed to providing the most up-to-date and credible information in the amateur baseball world.

In anticipation of the summer circuit, PBR’s Vice President of Scouting, Shooter Hunt, takes a look at 25 players that start off as (somewhat) less heralded, but could very easily grab the spotlight in a class that is already shaping up to be elite.

  1. OF/LHP Johnny King (FL, Miami)

  2. LHP/OF TP Wentworth (CA, uncommitted)

  3. RHP Dylan Jordan (FL, FSU)

  4. SS Charlie Bates (CA, Stanford)

  5. SS Jay Abernathy (GA, Tennessee)
