Body: 5-11, 150-pounds. Leaner athletic build. Projectable size with room to add gains. Hit: LHH. Has higher set hands in stance. Toe tap trigger with a shorter stride. Loads into a higher elbow. More direct to the ball with a level path (88% on-plane efficiency). Let the ball get deep for some more inside out swings. Oppo approach with 66.7% LDs. Power: 83 max exit velocity Gap to gap. Has been up to 70 mph with bat speed at past events. Needed increases there to enhance power. Arm: RH. INF - 77 mph. 4/5 accurate throws. Above average arm strength for level. Ability to lower slots when needed. Decent quickness in getting to release. Defense: Showed solid footwork and actions at SS. Light feet that play through the ball. Sets body up well in terms of angling towards 1B to get to release quicker. Confident glove work. Run: 7.14 runner in the 60.
6/06/21
Bay Area World Series Underclass (6/4/21-6/6/21)
Offensive notes: Balanced, high hands and high back elbow. Works knee-to-knee on load and when he gets back to a strong firing position lots of major damage. Quick hands and easy lift and carry to the backside gap from a whippy barrel showing batspeed. Backside focus showed up with 3B into LCF gap and hard contact through middle of the field. 60-yard - 6.93 / EV mph - 91
Defensive notes: Very good feet and smooth actions at SS. Used the glove well pushing, picking and funneling as needed to his middle playing with a quick release and the accurate loose arm. Athleticism through the ball and made multiple big plays on the move during the game. Arm is strong with space to be even better in future. SS mph - 79
Pitching notes: High front knee with ability to stay over the rubber and carry body down the hill into a good front side. Good glove arm tucking and pulling him down the hill allowing full swing and loose 3/4 release to be easy. Poised and pitched with confidence. FB angled to the glove side and off the plate; used armside as well with bits of run. CHG with run and armside sink. CB fluid and firm with small depth in 11-to-5 shape; better when armspeed and velo was similar to FB. FB 75-78 / CB 58-63 / CHG 71-72
10/25/20
Positional Profile: SS/2B/P - One of the more intriguing 2024s we've seen in early looks at this class. Body: 5-11, 150-pounds. Lean young athletic body, projects quite positively. Defense: Sets up feet well with rhythm to the ball, plays a little high, long strides when on the move, plays with his athleticism. Arm: RH. INF - 70 mph. Compact arm stroke, modest carry at this time, can use more than one arm slot, loose arm, throws athletically. Hit: LHH. Tall relaxed set-up, very slightly open, calm, smooth reverse toe tap to small quiet stride, slightly raises hands in fairly shallow load. Flat to it with slight uphill finish through contact, high one hand finish, sprayed to all fields, adjustable swing to pitches in multiple locations; 62.5% fly balls, 25% line drives, 86% on plane efficiency. Power: 83 mph exit velocity in BP via TrackMan. 21.2 max hand speed (avg 19.32), 66.1 max bat speed (63.09 avg). Run: 7.31 runner in the 60.
Delivery: Smooth rhythmic delivery, high knee lift with toe over heel, glides down and out, lands closed before slightly fanning, in-line stride, maintains balance through finish. Arm Action: RH. Loose easy arm, two piece backside works in sync with lower half, clean arm, high-3/4 slot, projectable arm. FB: T76, 72-75 mph. Max spin hints at future FB with length through zone, feel around the zone, significant +movement on arm side, holds plane, finishes the FB. CB: 63-65 mph. Big shape with fair spin, two plane whiffle ball action when got to extension, does have feel and can create depth. CH: 69-71 mph. Outstanding finish, late dying life, at times dive bomb action with lots of run, high spin CHG.
