Florida 2021 Rankings Update

The Spring season has been off to a strong start with tons of talent around the Sunshine State. With the 2021 class starting their senior spring, it is time to update our 2021 rankings. IMG’s 2021 class is loaded with talent throughout their roster and several players have made big jumps this spring. Lakeland Christian and Palm Beach Gardens are off to impressive undefeated starts headlined by some of the top 2021’s in the state.

Today, we will unveil our newly updated Florida Class of 2021 rankings filled with many risers throughout the state. Remaining at No. 1 is RHP Andy Painter (Calvary Christian Academy, Florida) who continues to be the top RHP in the country. Things change at No. 2 as OF James Wood (IMG Academy, Mississippi St.) makes the jump. A 6-foot-6, 230 pound OF with some of the best raw power in the class should see his name called on day one of July’s Draft. No. 3 remains Painter’s HS teammate in RHP Irving Carter (Calvary Christian Academy, Miami). Carter is one of the top RHPs in the country with his fastball in the mid 90’s.

No. 4 is perhaps the best athlete in the Florida 2021 class in OF Jay Allen (John Carroll, Florida). Allen is a three-sport athlete with true center field tools and a very high offensive ceiling. Rounding out the top 5 is the top two-way player in the Florida 2021 class in OF/LHP Drew Gray (IMG Academy, Arkansas). Gray runs the fastball up to 94 mph with a 2800 spin rate and has one of the top hit tools in the class.
