Sam Carlson, RHP, Burnsville, 2017
Florida commit. 6-foot-4, 200-pound right-handed pitcher, long lean frame that projects. Prepares to pitch with a purpose. Imposing presence and in control of the game at all times. Delivery is clean and directional, closed toe landing, strong higher front side. Arm action is short and clean, high ¾ slot, quick live arm. Fastball topped at 94 mph, sat at 90-93 mph throughout outing, finishes well with occasional life to arm side showed ability to command it. Changeup sat 80-82 mph, advanced action, sinks in the zone, occasionally loses up and arm side. Slider flashed swing and miss stuff, 81-84 mph, 10/4 type action. Carlson used his full repertoire early and often, lasted five innings, allowed two hits, one run, six strikeouts, two walks.
