Jackson Jobe POY

Earlier this week, Prep Baseball Report announced the PBR State Player of the Year awards and All-PBR Team. From the 2021 list of 42 individual PBR State POY awards, we have selected one athlete who has excelled amongst his peers, on his way to earning the Prep Baseball Report Player of the Year Award:

Jackson Jobe

Jobe, a right-handed pitcher and shortstop from Heritage Hall HS in Oklahoma, led his team to a 4A state title with impressive numbers on both sides of the ball.

Jobe has always been an excellent athlete with noteworthy ability as a two-way player, but his shift in focus to pitching led to him tapping into his upside and simply dominating opposing batters. He cruised to a 9-0 record with a 0.14 ERA in 51.2 innings, allowing just 15 hits and five walks while striking out a staggering 122. If that wasn’t enough, he also batted .469 with 13 doubles, five triples, seven home runs, 38 RBIs and 33 runs scored.

A Mississippi recruit, Jobe ascended to the upper echelon of draft rankings and currently sits as the top prep pitcher in the country with expectation of being selected in the top 10 of the 2021 MLB Draft.

The previous winners of the Prep Baseball Report Player of the Year award include 2017 LHP MacKenzie Gore (Whiteville HS, NC), 2018 RHP Mason Englert (Forney HS, TX) and 2019 3B Brett Baty (Lake Travis HS, TX). The Prep Baseball Report staff has been diligently scouting and covering games at diamonds across the country this spring to bring parents, athletes and fans the most comprehensive coverage of amateur baseball. Their dedication and coverage allows PBR a credible way to identify the top athletes each year who best represent the game of baseball.
