Hickory Grove Christian – 0                        Charlotte Christian – 4

Thursday night saw a throng of MLB Scouts at Charlotte Christian to see two of the top arms in North Carolina square off against each other.  Charlotte Christian hosted Hickory Grove Christian where Philip Abner and Jordan Little would toe the rubber.  Both arms threw well with Abner taking the win for Charlotte Christian by a score of 4-0.

Abner worked 6 strong innings, striking out 14 and limiting the Hickory Grove lineup to just two hits.  Abner paired a fastball that was up to 93 with a hard, sweeping breaking ball.  Staked to a 2-0 lead after the 2nd, Abner did work through some trouble in the 3rd.  Two walks surrounded a groundout.  With a runners in scoring position, Abner turned to the fastball, pounding hitters on the inner half and registering a strikeout and pop up to end the threat.

JD Suarez led the Charlotte Christian offense with 2 hits and an RBI.  The Knights offense made Little work over his four innings.  Little allowed 3 runs, but only 1 earned.   He punched five but did walk four.

Judd Utermark closed the game on the mound for the Knights, striking out 2, and giving the Knights staff 16 for the game.
