TAMPA, FL -  This past weekend, December 8th and 9th, Top Tier Roos hosted their tryouts for the Classes of 2020 through 2023 at Courthouse Performance Center and Carrollwood Day School. Today, we present to you 15 standout prospects from the 2020 and 2021 classes

TOP TIER ROOS


Jackson Miller, C, JW Mitchell, 2020
Wake Forest commit, currently ranked No. 6 in FL and No. 24 Overall. 6-foot, 190-pound, left-handed hitting catcher, athletic build, moves with smooth, loose actions. Offensively, makes consistent hard contact, drives the ball to all fields. Repeats swing with consistency, generates advanced bat speed. Recorded a 90 mph exit velocity off a tee with wood. Defensively, showed athleticism and flexibility in setup, receives with soft hands. Quick and smooth on transfers, quick footwork, throws are true with carry. One of the top catching prospects in the 2020 class, high follow 2020 MLB Draft prospect.

Blake Wright, SS, Clearwater Central Catholic, 2020
South Florida commit, currently ranked No. 73 in FL and No. 470 Overall. 6-foot, 180-pound right-handed middle infielder, strong, athletic frame, lean muscle. Offensively, continued to show a short, quick swing, aggressive intent, stays level, gap-to-gap type hitter, recorded a 91 mph exit velocity off a tee with wood. Defensively, confident in abilities, looks the part, arm works short from multiple angles, 82 mph across the infield. Fields position athletically with soft hands, quick on transfers, fluid footwork.

Alexander Haire, OF, Berkeley, 2020
Uncommitted, currently ranked No. 81 in FL. 5-foot-11, 165-pound right-handed outfielder, lean and lanky frame, athletically-built. Offensively, barrel works short and quick through the zone, whip-like, hands/wrists work athletically, generates line drive contact to all fields, developing gap-to-gap abilities. Defensively, center field type, fields position athletically, plays through the ball. Arm action is loose with quick arm speed, throws carry. Ran a 6.85 60. Highly athletic prospect.

Jonathan Shoop, OF, Jesuit, 2020
Uncommitted. 6-foot-1, 200-pound left-handed outfielder, strong, athletic build, wide shoulders. Ran a 6.65 60. Offensively, quick bat speed, barrel stays level through the zone, line drive type hitter. When in-rhythm and on-time has power to middle/pull. Recorded a 90 mph exit velocity off a tee with wood.
