Prep Baseball Report

Updated & Expanded 2019 Rankings

Prep Baseball Report Scouting Staff

The summer season has come to an end and it provided a lot of insight into players in the 2019 class as they head into fall/winter conditioning workouts and games where they'll continue to develop physically, as well as technically, in preparation for their senior seasons next spring. Our team of scouts have scoured the state for the top prep players in each class and have had multiple viewings on the players in our rankings. Many of these viewing came at our PBR events that have been held across the state.

Our scouts have also had multiple discussion to review our initial lists and make necessary adjustments based on what they've seen. The overall list was presented, torn down, picked apart, recreated, torn down, and picked apart again before our scouts concluded on what we present here.

In the end, our scouts were able to agree that our updated and expanded 2019 Top 150 Player Rankings for the state of California are an accurate reflection of the talent in the class.

Two-way standout LHP/1B Spencer Jones (La Costa Canyon HS) checks in at No. 2 in our revised rankings. Jones has demonstrated this summer that he is a legitimate two-way player as his bat has been as impressive as his pitching.

Checking in at No. 5 is LHP/1B Joshua Hahn (Huntington Beach HS) whose bat is as pure and consistent as there is in the state. Mix in his ability to throw three pitches for strikes and Hahn presents himself as a legitimate two-way player at the next level. When watching the video, wait for it....
