BEDFORD, TX - Throughout the fall, PBR's staff will be on the road covering baseball across Texas. Games, workouts, practices, camps and more.  The "boots on the ground" philosophy of PBR is well represented with the coverage throughout the Fall of 2017. Here are some quick highlights from the North Texas Premier Scout Camp.

Arlington A’s

+ Louisiana State recruit Jacob Hasty is a 2019 LHP/1B from Fort Worth Christian HS. Hasty stands 6-foot-2, 210-pounds, and works from a high-¾ slot with a quick arm stroke. On Sunday morning, his fastball sat 87-89 mph with good tilt. He also mixed in a hard breaking curveball with 1/7 shape at 76-78 mph. Hasty, who is also an accomplished left-handed hitter, collected a couple of hard singles.

+ Uncommitted 2018 RHP Connery Peters (Joshua HS) showed solid fastball command with late, heavy life at 88-90 mph. He threw three sliders at 81, 83, and 86 mph. It’s more of a chase pitch right now but shows tight spin and sharp 11/5 shape.

+ Uncommitted 2018 RHP Mason Hilton (Weatherford HS) has been steady this fall. The right-hander sat 87-89 mph, topping out once at 90. He showed a plus changeup with fastball arm speed and depth at 80-82 mph. His slider had more lateral, cutter-like movement at 76 and 80 mph.

+ Uncommitted 2018 RHP Jacob Cornell (Midlothian HS) stands 6-foot, 155-pounds with a lean frame. The right-hander has a max effort delivery and ran his fastball in at 84-87 mph. Mixed in a 74 mph curveball with depth.

+ Uncommitted 2019 RHP/SS Jase Lopez (Brock HS) works from ¾ slot with a loose arm swing and heavy fastball at 84-86 mph.

+ Texas State recruit, 2018 RHP Blake Bolgiano (Midlothian HS) sat 82-85 mph with a 70-75 mph breaking ball.

+ Uncommitted 2018 LHP Trevor Mott (Waxahachie HS) stands 6-foot-2, 165-pounds. The left-hander works from a high slot with a loose arm stroke. His fastball sat 81-82 mph, with a 72 mph curveball.

+ Uncommitted 2018 LHP Jacob Crawford (Wylie East HS) stand 6-foot-5, 187-pounds. The left-hander has deception in his delivery, working from a ¾ slot with a long arm stroke. He scattered his fastball around the zone at 81-83 mph.

Texas Stix

+ 2019 SS Izzy Lopez (Arlington Heights HS) is a Texas A&M recruit that has plus actions and good all-around fell for the game. Lopez attempted several deak plays, with fake throws and tags, and “quarterbacks” the game from shortstop. The right-handed hitter had a single through the left side and a hard ground ball to third where he ran a 4.54 home to first.

+ 2019 IF Miguel Santos (Burleson Centennial HS) is an uncommitted infielder with a good actions and a loose-athletic frame.

+ 2019 C Junior Torres (Irving MacArthur HS) has a strong, clean arm stroke and quick exchange behind the plate. We got a 2.14 on one of his pop times between innings.

+ 2018 C Jonathan Hearn (Grapevine HS) is a physical right-handed hitter with projectable power

+ Still uncommitted, 2018 1B Brett Minnich (Colleyville Heritage HS) might be the best “sleeper” still on the board from Sunday. Minnich is approximately 6-foot-5, 190-pounds with a lean, athletic frame. The left-handed hitter has loose hands and simple rhythm at the plate. Put together a solid day, launching a deep home run to right field, flew out on the barrel to left, and laced a line drive right back at the pitcher, running a 4.36 to first base.

+ 2019 C Jimmy Crooks (Euless Trinity HS) is a left-handed hitting catcher with a loose hack, and a clean, quick exchange with accurate arm. He posted a pop time of 2.08 and doubled to right-centerfield.

+ 2018 LHP Kohl Drake (Wylie HS) showed plus pitchability with his three-pitch mix. The left-hander works from a high-¾ slot with his fastball ranging from 80-82 mph, topping out at 83. His curveball has sharp 1/7 shape with good depth at 69-70 mph. Very good feel for his changeup at 76-77 mph with arm side fade and depth.

+ 2018 3B/SS Brett Squires (Grapevine HS) recently committed to McLennan JC this week. Squires has an athletic, long-limbed frame with a high-waist at 6-foot-1, 180-pounds. The senior has solid footwork and enough arm strength to stick on the left side of the infield. A left-handed hitter, Squires has strong hands and solid bat speed with future projectable power.

+ 2021 RHP/SS Hunter Teplansky (Belton HS) is ranked No. 32 in the PBR 2021 Overall Rankings. Teplansky stands 6-foot-2, 150-pounds with a long-limbed, athletic frame. The right-hander works from a high-¾ slot with a long, clean arm stroke. His fastball sat 84-86 mph, topping out at 87.

+ 2020 C Bo Hogeboom (Argyle HS) is a switch-hitting catcher that also plays quarterback in the fall. From the left-side of the plate, Hogeboom hammered a triple down the right field line. He has good rhythm and loose hands at the plate.

+ 2020 SS Jalen Mack (Jesuit HS) is an all-around athletic switch-hitter with good actions on the infield, and loose hands with rhythm and bat speed at the plate.

+ 2020 3B/RHP Tony Garza (South Grand Prairie HS) is a strong, offensive right-handed hitter with an advanced approach and swagger in the box. Solid bat speed and strength at contact, he hit just missed a home run to left field with a double off the top of the fence.

+ 2020 RHP/IF Cameron Bye (Trinity HS) has a short, quick arm stroke from a high slot, and max effort delivery. He ran his fastball up to 88 mph once, but sat mostly 86-87. Threw a 12/6 curveball with good shape at 67-69 mph.

+ 2020 LHP Charlie Gorsuch (Lewisville HS) showed good command of two pitchers on Sunday. The left-hander works from a high-¾ slot with a short, loose arm stroke and repeatable delivery. He had good command of his fastball at 77 mph, as well as a curveball with good downward bite at 67-69 mph. He was able to throw the pitch to both sides of the plate, including on the back foot of right-handed hitters.

+ 2020 SS Cade Merka (Argyle HS) is a gritty middle infielder. He lined out sharply to left field.

+ 2020 RHP/IF Jack Quinn (Midlothian HS) worked his fastball 80-82 mph with a long, loose arm swing.
