With the recent release of our Updated Class of 2022 State Rankings, our scouting staff took a deeper dive into the prospects in the 2022 class. By position, we will comb through the list, highlighting some of the top talent in each class, and today we continue with middle infielders.

Leading the way at shortstop is Louisiana’s No. 1 ranked player overall in SS/RHP Gavin Guidry (Barbe HS). Guidry is an elite level prospect who’s ranked No. 40 in the national 2022 rankings. The projectable framed right-handed hitter has an advanced hit tool that pairs well with his elite defensive skills. To top it off, Guidry has also shown big velo and pitchability on the mound. Following Guidry is No. 4 Tyler Lejeune (Iota HS) a strong, athletic left-handed bat that consistently finds the barrel and will flash solid defensive actions. Below, we will take an in depth look at both of these prospects along with several other in Louisiana’s 2022 class.
