Krowka Pitches Heath Past College Park To Even Series

Toby Bicknell
Texas Scouting Director

HEATH, TX - Rockwall Heath and College Park met in the second game of a three game playoff of Friday night. College Park won the first game of the series 7-4 in The Woodlands. 2018 LHP Kaden Krowka (Oklahoma State) took the mound for Heath, while uncommitted 2020 RHP Will Clements toed the rubber for College Park.

Heath got on the board in the top of the first after a leadoff walk and an error, but College Park starter Will Clements settled in for the remainder of the inning, getting a double play ball and a strikeout.

The Hawks added a run in the third after Jake Wade doubled to lead off the inning, and Dakota Britt drove him in with a single to left field. 2-0 Heath.

In the bottom of the fourth, Clements was lifted after a leadoff walk. Rockwall Heath then tacked on three more runs on the College Park bullpen when Miller Ladusau scored on a dirt ball/wild pitch, and Dakota Britt drove in his second run of the night with a single to center field. After Cole Stilwell drove in a run on a fielder’s choice ground ball, Heath went up 5-0.

College Park cut into the Heath lead in the top of the fifth. With two outs and the bases loaded, 2018 2B Travis Washburn hit an RBI infield single (possibly an infield error) that scored two runs for the Caveliers. Heath 5, College Park 2.

College Park reliever 2019 LHP Casen Holden struck out the side in the bottom of the fifth, and held the Hawks scoreless in the sixth, so we headed to the seventh with College Park down 5-2.

Heath’s Kaden Krowka was in control all night with his three-pitch mix of FB/CH/CB. After two quick outs in the top of the seventh, Krowka waved off the Heath coaching staff, wanting the last out of the game. But after a seven pitch walk, Krowka was lifted for reliever Clay Finnegan, who gave up a single to Travis Washburn. With two on and two out, College Park brought the tying run to the plate, but Finnegan was able to induce a ground ball to end the game.

Final Score: Rockwall Heath 5, College Park 2.

Game 3 will be Saturday at Hudson HS at 1:00.
