SEASON PREVIEW

The Forney Jackrabbits return two of the top arms in the state from a team that won 28 games last season. Mason Englert and Jonathan Childress are both household names in the scouting community, and both are ranked in the top 10 of the 2018 class, and both are included in the PBR Draft 100

Last season, Englert earned district MVP honors after going 11-2 on the mound with a 0.69 ERA in 80 IP with 128 K. Childress was 8-1 with a 0.48 ERA in 72.2 IP with 137 K. Also back for the Jackrabbits is closer Austin Ream, who went 6-1 with a 1.8 ERA and 2 saves. Offensively, look for 2018 OF Ryland Kerby to lead the charge. Kerby hit .333 last season. 2019 OF Tyler Jones was 2nd Team All-District a year ago after batting .366. 2019 3B Addison Haley brings back his .385 AVG and will hold down the hot corner.

If the Jackrabbits can score enough runs, they have the experience on the mound to carry them a long way this season.
