SA Churchill 4 - SA Johnson 1

Tuesday held a critical 26-6A matchup between the Chargers of Churchill High School and the Jaguars of Johnson High School. The contest could very well predict their positions going into the post-season.

The Chargers sent ace Jack Neely (Texas Commit/ #13 PBR Texas), to the mound. Neely has been battling blister issues on his pitching hand, but was able to control the game despite the nuisance. Neely worked five innings and struck out seven in the contest and showed strong velocity throughout the entire outing. Scattered two hits and four walks. The Chargers would only allow one Jaguar run to cross the plate on the evening. Uncommitted Junior LHP Hudson Head came in and closed out the game with a six-out save.

Senior catcher and Central Washington University commit Caetano Rochelle lead the hitting efforts for Churchill with two hits.

Johnson sent out sophomore Texas A&M commit, RHP Nathan Dettmer, to face Churchill. Dettmer gave up an early run in the first, one in the third, and two in the sixth. The four runs came on seven hits, three walks, and two errors. Uncommitted senior LHP Jason Palmer came in relief of Dettmer in the bottom of the sixth to record the final out.
