TPG East: Pitcher Breakdown

On June 22, over 60 players from all corners of the Commonwealth took part in our Top Prospect Games East. We begin our detailed breakdown of those players today with the pitchers:

 

Sean Aronson C / RHP / Floyd E Kellam, VA / 2022

Aronson is 6-0 with an athletic frame that has some projection left to it. He throws from a three-quarters arm slot, short free arm action and normal effort to his delivery. Shoulders are slightly uphill and closed, lands square with an athletic finish. Fastball was 77-80, with downward plane and some late hard run to armside. Curveball had good armspeed and was 71-72 with sharp downer break. Change-up had good armspeed and was 73-74 with some heavy sink.

 

Landon Bonneville C / RHP / King's Fork, VA / 2022

Bonneville is 6-0 with a strong frame that has some projection left to it. He throws from a three-quarters arm slot, short loose arm action and normal effort to his delivery. Shoulders are uphill and closed, lands square with an athletic finish and some recoil. Fastball was 77-79, touching 80, some run to armside and late sink, run played up when he threw to armside. Curveball had some armspeed and was 65-68 with sharp 11/5 break.

 

Moses Brown V SS / RHP / Menchville , VA / 2021

Brown V is 6-1 with an athletic frame that has plenty of projection left to it. He throws from a high three-quarters arm slot, short loose quick arm action and easier effort to his delivery. Shoulders are level and slightly closed, lands square with an athletic finish and some recoil. Fastball was 82-85, touching 86, downward angle and some late run to it. Curveball had good armspeed and was 72-73 with late hard 10-4 break. Change-up had good armspeed and was 78-80 with heavy fade.

 

Harrison Coble LHP / OF / St. Christophers, VA / 2021

Coble is 6-2 with a lanky frame that has a lot of projection left to it. He throws from a very low three-quarters arm slot, longer loose quick arm action and easier effort to his delivery. Shoulders are level and closed, lands closed with an athletic finish. Fastball was 80-83, touching 84, with hard run to armside and a bit of depth to it. Curveball had good armspeed and was 71-73 with late sharp 2/8 break. Change-up had good armspeed and was 72-76 with heavy sink. Feel for all three pitches in any count.

 

Aidan Cunningham SS / 3B / Oscar Smith, VA / 2021

Cunningham is 6-0 with an athletic frame that has plenty of projection left to it. He throws from a low three-quarters arm slot, short free arm action and normal effort to his delivery. Shoulders are uphill and slightly closed, lands open with a slight fall off finish. Fastball was 74-76, run to armside and sink. Curveball had good armspeed and was 57-60 with sharp 11-5 break.

 

Jesus Del Valle SS / 2B / Bishop Ireton , VA / 2021

Del Valle is 6-0 with a lankier athletic  frame that has plenty of projection left to it. He throws from a three-quarters arm slot, short loose arm action and normal effort to his delivery. Shoulders are level and closed, lands closed with an athletic finish. Fastball was 77-80, touching 82, with some run to armside. Curveball was 68-70 and change-up was 68-70.

 

Jacob Genzler OF / RHP / First Colonial, VA / 2022

Genzler is 6-3 with a lanky frame that has a lot of projection left to it. He throws from a lower three-quarters arm slot, short free arm action and normal effort to his delivery. Shoulders are uphill and online, lands open with an athletic finish. Fastball was 81-84, with downward angle and hard late run to armside. Curveball had some armspeed and was 70-71 with sharp 11-5 break that had good shape. Change-up had good armspeed and was 74-76 with late run. 

 

Kyle Hardy LHP / OF / Western Branch, VA / 2021

Hardy is 5-11 with an athletic frame that has some strength present and some projection left to it. He throws from a high three-quarters arm slot, longer free arm action and normal effort to his delivery. Shoulders are uphill and online, lands slightly closed with an athletic finish. Fastball was 79-82, touching 84, with downward angle and some late run to armside. Curveball had good armspeed and was 72-74 with late 1-7 break. Change-up had good armspeed and was 73-75 with sink to it. 

 

Mickey Haynes SS / RHP / Brentsville District, VA / 2021

Haynes is 5-10 with a lanky athletic frame that has plenty of projection left to it. He throws from a three-quarters arm slot, short loose arm action and normal effort to his delivery. Shoulders are uphill and closed, lands closed with an athletic finish. Fastball was 80-82 with some sink to it. Curveball had good armspeed and was 72-74 with late 10-4 break.

 

Lincoln Lubsen C / RHP / Walsingham Academy, VA / 2021

Lubsen is 6-3 with an athletic frame that has plenty of projection left to it. He throws from a low three-quarters arm slot, shorter loose quick arm action and normal effort to his delivery. Shoulders are slightly uphill and closed, lands closed with a slight fall-off finish. Fastball was 85-88 with some sink to it. Curveball had good armspeed and was 75-77 with hard sharp 11-5 break.

 

Xavier Martin C / 3B / Tabb, VA / 2022

Martin is 5-10 with a strong frame that has some projection left to it. He throws from a high three-quarters arm slot, short free arm action and normal effort to his delivery. Shoulders are level and closed, lands open with a slight fall-off finish. Fastball was 74-78, touching 79 with some run to armside. Change-up had good armspeed and was 67-71 sink to it.

 

Cooper Newell RHP / OF / Hickory, VA / 2022

Newell is 6-2 with a lankier athletic frame that has plenty of projection left to it. He throws from a three-quarters arm slot, short loose quick arm action and normal effort to his delivery. Shoulders are downhill and closed, lands closed with a fall-off finish. Fastball was 81-85 with downward angle and a bit of late run to armside. Curveball had good armspeed and was 69-73 with sharp 11-5 break.

 

Daniel Padilla RHP / OF / Kempsville, VA / 2020

Padilla is 6-1 with a lanky frame that has plenty of projection left to it. He throws from a high three-quarters arm slot, longer loose arm action and normal effort to his delivery. Shoulders are slightly uphill and closed, lands closed with an athletic finish. Fastball was 79-82, touching 83, run to armside and sink. Curveball had good armspeed and was 68-71 with sharp 12/6 break.
