Summer Preseason I.D.: Statistical Analysis

The Preseason I.D. - Waukesha took place on Sunday, May 12, 2018 at STiKS Academy in Waukesha, WI. Nearly 50 prospects from the 2021, 2020 and 2019 class participated in a pro-style workout in front of the PBR Wisconsin Scouting Staff. We continue the event analysis with a breakdown of the statistical leaders.

TOP 60 YARD DASH TIMES
Freshman OF Luke Nowak (Menomonee Falls) registered the quickest 60-yard dash clocking in at 6.87. Coming in just after the leader was 2019 INF Kyle Ristow (Wisconsin Lutheran) at 6.94.  Two prospects ran a 7.08 60-yard dash first being OF Collin Kovnesky (Mukwonago, 2019) and the second INF Josh Meulmans (Sussex Hamilton, 2020)

TOP FASTBALL VELOCITY
Past Future Gamer Riley LeTourneau (Brookfield East, 2019) garnered the top fastball velocity coming in at 89 mph. Upcoming Future Gamer Gavin Hinckley (West Bend West, 2020) was two ticks behind the leader registering a 87 mph heater. Bailey Banaszynski (Brookfield East, 2019) saw a 5 mph jump from last years Preseason I.D. hitting 86 mph twice. The only left-hander to make the leaderboard was Tyler Drezek (West Allis Central, 2019) who ran his fastball up to 85 mph. Three Sophomores, Mitchell Alba (Franklin), Joseph Pettit (Marquette University) and Brody Cypert (Waukesha South) climbed into the leaderboard all coming in at 82 mph.

TOP EXIT VELOCITY
A trio of Juniors, Jacoby Endreas (Sheboygan Falls), Masen Beatty (Pewaukee) and Colton Toutant (Homeschool), shared the top spot recording a 90 mph exit velocity from a tee. A pair of 2020's, Jonah Wronski (Marquette University) and Brody Cypert (Waukesha South) were hot on their tail both topping 89 mph off a tee.

TOP INFIELD VELOCITY
Junior Charlie Brockman (Marquette University) and Sophomore Zach Storbakken (Sussex Hamilton) were the clear-cut leaders clocking in at 84 mph across the infield. Athletic Freshman Zach Peterson (Oak Creek, IL) recorded 81 mph across. The only other prospect get into the 80's was Junior Kyle Ristow (Wisconsin Lutheran) who topped 80 mph across the diamond.

TOP OUTFIELD VELOCITY
2020 prospect Mitchell Alba (Franklin) stood alone at the top of the outfield velocity leaderboard clocking in at 87 mph. Collin Kovnesky (Mukwonago) slid into the second spot topping 83 mph. George Merkt (Marquette University, 2019) and Freshman Luke Nowak (Menomonee Falls) , who led in the 60-yard dash, both saw their ball top 80 mph from the outfield.

TOP CATCHER POP TIMES
The top pop-time and highest catcher velocity goes to Masen Beatty (Pewaukee, 2019). The Junior backstop topped 76 mph from the crouch and clocked a pop time of 2.11. Sophomore Jonah Wronski (Marquette University) showed well behind the plate topping 74 mph down to second and registering a 2.19 pop time.

The Top Prospect - Milwaukee took place on Tuesday, July 25 at The Rock in Franklin, WI. This was the first Top Prospect event in the state of Wisconsin and the talent was impressive. The pitching was probably the highlight from a statistical analysis as 11 of the 36 pitchers touched 85 mph or better.
