His performance on the mound Friday afternoon helped lead GRB Yellow 17U to a victory over Team Heat. The 6-foot-1 right-handed pitcher tossed six strong innings of one-run baseball, striking out seven and earning the victory. Orthober ran his fastball up to 85 mph and primarily sat between 82-84 mph. He also showed feel for a changeup that was thrown with fastball arm speed, flashed arm side run, and played between 73-74 mph and an 11/5 curveball that he threw for strikes with gradual action. 


Body: 6-foot-0, 170-pounds. Athletic shape, proportional build.
Positional Profile: INF/RHP 
Run: 7.52 runner in the 60. 
Hit: RHH. Slight open stance, short stride, loads hands back. Level path, some length, hits in rhythm, gap to gap approach, gets extension through contact.
Power: 91 mph exit velocity from the tee. Flashed above average off the bat.
Defense: Actions play through the baseball, fluid footwork, average hands.
Arm: RH. INF - 84 mph. High 3/4 slot, long arm path, showed carry, arm played athletic when on the move.


Positional Profile: INF/RHP 
Body: 6-foot-0, 170-pounds. Athletic shape, proportional build.
Delivery: Slight drop and drive delivery, loads on back side, lands square, smooth rhythm, some effort.
Arm Action: RH. High 3/4 slot, long loose arm action.
FB: T83, 81-83 mph. Straight four seam action, appeared heavy at times, abiltiy to throw for strikes.
CB: 66-67 mph. 12/6 shape, fastball arm speed, dropped for strikes.
CH: 72-76 mph. Arm side action, fastball arm speed, showed above average feel. 

A right-handed hitter that starts in a balanced setup. Simple, fluid load that creates energy and balanced. Nice, level path with a ton of barrel feel in there. Wiry strong with average bat speed that projects for more. Ball came off well. Gap guy now with much more to come as he fills out athletic frame. In the infield he does a nice job of creating angles with his feet to play through the baseball efficiently. Plays fast too and through. Ball skills are above average for class. Urgent transfer followed by accuracy across the diamond. Solid defender. Two-way prospect. On the bump the righty works exclusively from the stretch. Drop and drive type guy that creates good energy/direction down the mound. Arm is clean with above average arm speed through a high-¾ slot. Tosses an easy 79-82 mph fastball that stays mostly true through the zone. Changeup has some fade to it, maintaining fastball arm speed at 74-75 mph.  Also spins a tight breaking ball on an 11/5 plane at 66-68 mph. The pitch was very sharp at times acting as his put away offering.

5/12/18  - 5-foot-11, 158 pound, lanky. Offensively, open balanced setup, smooth back load, short stride, maintains balance throughout. Above average bat speed, exit velocity of 85 mph off the tee, consistent barrell path, level throughout, extends through baseball. Defensively, High ¾ arm slot, long arm action, above average carry on baseball, 79 mph velocity from infield. Average hands in infield, average posture on ground balls, runs 7.82 60 time. On the mound, smooth delivery, stays tall, athletic finish, long arm action, repeatable. 4 seam fastball sits between 75-77 mph, straight, low in zone. 2 seam fastball sits between 74-76, tail, low in zone. Curveball sits 62-64, 11/5 action, depth to pitch.   

2/26/17 - 5-foot-8, 132-pound middle infielder, thin wiry frame. Right-handed hitter, open stance, short stride back to even. Path has length, 74 mph exit velocity from the tee. 8.29 runner in the 60. Arm action is long high ¾ slot, 68 mph across the diamond.

3/15/16 - 5-foot-3, 109-pound right-handed hitting shortstop with a lanky frame. Defensively has a long arm action from a high ¾ arm slot. Average hands and arm strength. Threw 61 mph across the infield. Offensively hits from a wide base. Drops on load with an arm bar. Long, uphill swing path with choppy rhythm. 71 mph exit velocity from a tee. Ran the 60 at 8.60.
