MADISON, WI – On Oct. 16, Madison College hosted the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee for a workout in front of a group of scouts and our staff followed by a scrimmage. Today, we publish our notes from the event and to read our thoughts continue on below. You can find the UWM portion of the notes under the Draft HQ tab on our main site, as a number of these prospects may stir up some buzz come next June.

Madison College

Jarrett Scheelk, RHP/OF, Madison College (WI)
Sophomore two-way player, with big upside on the mound. Recently saw up to 91 mph at the NJCAA REgion IV Sophomore Showcase. Backed that up touching 92 mph multiple times sitting mostly 89-91 mph. Fastball command was erratic from over the top slot, but arm strength is clearly present. Curveball is hard on 12/6 plane, 77-78 mph, swing and miss potential. Presently projects as a backend reliever role, improved command would make a potential starter. Offensively shows advanced bat speed from the right side. Compact, slightly uphill, flashes pull side pop. Hit .365 in over 100 AB’s as a freshman, led the team in HR with seven.
