1B Maddox Macrory (2022) had a stellar day offensively in two crucial area games for the Eagles on Thursday. The junior first baseman led the way and started the scoring in Game 1, as he roped a RBI double down the left field line (clip below) to give his team a 1-0 lead. He also came up again in the middle innings and singled into the back side gap to drive home another run. Added another hit to finish 3-4, 2B and 2 RBI’s, but he wasn’t done yet. Macrory also went 3-4, 2 2B’s and a RBI in Game 2 to  get another big win. May not have the flashiest tools like some other players in his class, but Macrory is composed & mature and always gets it done in big situations at the plate.

He showed decent accuracy on his changeup (69-70).

6-foot-1, 150-pound lean frame. At the plate, the right-handed hitter had a max exit velocity of 83 mph. Had an athletic stance. Bat speed was efficient, and used simple swing plane. During his round he produced some loud contact and found lots of barrels. Line drive approach. Recorded an outfield position velocity of 81 mph. During the event, recorded a 60 time of 7.65. Showed a nice athletic delivery and nice loose arm action. Did a nice job of creating good rotation at foot strike. The breaking ball showed tight spin at 73 mph that he showed the ability to flip in for strikes at any time. The FB was up to 75 with late life. Defensively he showed well during defensive drill work and feel for OF play. Does a nice job getting to his glove side on ground balls to the OF. The throws stayed on line to the plate. Offensively, he started with a slightly open stance and showed solid contact during BP with a definite pull side approach. Did a nice job of staying through the hitting zone with the barrel.
