6/30/20

6-foot-2, 210-pound physical frame. During batting practice, the right-handed hitter displayed an exit velocity of 94 mph, showing his strength and power ability. Used a controlled stride to initiate his swing. Bat speed was quick, and had level swing plane. Found multiple barrels with some loud contact. Pull side approach. In the infield, recorded a position velocity of 74 mph; had consistent footwork and a fluid exchange. Showed consistent accuracy to the bases. Clocked a 60 time of 7.54 at the event. On the mound, displays quick arm speed. Uses easy effort in his delivery. Showed consistent balance point. Shows a clean finish. Produced a fastball that came in at 76-78 mph with a max of 79 mph; shows running action and in the zone control. His curveball (61-62) has control low in the zone and sweeping action.

1/18/20

Showed a low ¾ arm slot with big time arm side run on the fastball. Hides the ball well and the delivery creates some deception. The fastball was 75-76 mph but should miss a lot of barrels with the plus ASR on the pitch. The breaking ball showed “over the top” action with very late depth and the change really disappeared away from RH hitters. The “crafty” lefty shows some very nice present pitchability. Very short with the hands at the plate and a level swing plans consistently produced line drives to the middle of the field. The swing looks very simple with no wasted actions. Finishes through contact very well and stays on the baseball. Plays low to the ground at 1B and showed a quick transfer getting the ball out of the glove coming off the bag to start the 3-6-3 DP. Nice footwork around the bag.

‘21 LHP that has definite feel on the mound for how to pitch. The mid ¾ slot really creates some ASR on the FB, that was 72-74 mph and up to 75 mph. Did a nice job working both sides of the plate with the FB. The breaking ball was 54-58 mph with really nice depth. He got several swing and misses on the breaking ball. Had 2 hits during game play and showed a nice setup in BP, driving balls to all fields. Has definitely improved his offensive game since we last saw him. An even set up with the feet and a simple, short approach with the hands allow him to handle pitches on both sides of the plate. There is some tilt in the bat path and he showed juice to the backside. Natural actions at 1B and the glove was solid. Did a nice job of handling balls in the dirt.

6/25/19

Has a simple approach to the game. Begins with an even stance and has a simple, quiet load. Short, compact swing that stayed up the middle with line drives to CF. Impressed with his approach. On the mound, he was even more impressive. In a day where people pay more attention to velo, it is nice to see a pitcher that knows how to pitch! FB was 69-71 and topped at 72. CB was a very effective pitch at 55-57 with a lot of deception. Mixed his FB to both sides of the plate and was very crafty. He just knows how to pitch
