6-foot-2, 185-pound right-handed hitting corner infielder and right-handed pitcher, thick frame. Offensively, wide, balanced setup, short leg lift stride, hands load back with a slight barrel wrap. Line drive hitter, uphill barrel path through the zone, uses the whole field, 82 mph exit velocity off a tee. Ran a 7.87 60. Defensively, long arm action to a high ¾ slot, kept throws around bag at 69 mph across the infield. Fields position aggressively, charges every ball. On the mound, long arm action, slot varied between over-the-top and high ¾, can get backed up. Drop and drive delivery, works on-line, lands toe open, finishing walking off the mound towards first. Fastball sat 69-71. Mixed in a curveball at 56-59, gradual break.

Another rising junior that did some good things at UAB on Tuesday. Was even in his stance while displaying a level bat path during his swing. This allowed him to drive some balls to LF during his BP round. His exit velo off of a tee was 80 mph, as there is some average strength in the bat. These numbers will continue to climb once he fully develops down the road.
Trey Simpkins (2021, 1B, RHP, Elberta) 6’1 160 lbs- 7.19.18- an interesting 2021 grad that did a lot of things well. On the mound, his fastball was up to 73 mph with a breaking ball at 61-63 mph with tight slider type action. His changeup was 64-65 mph from an over the top arm action. During IF drills, he appeared to have good feet and a solid glove and played low to the ground. He has an IF velo of 67 mph and a 7.95 60 yard dash. At the plate, he had an exit velocity of 72 mph and showed some pullside pop with a soft load of the hands.
