Game Performance

Notes

Comments

3/07/21

Body: 5-11, 230-pounds. Large, sturdy frame that has slimmed up since our last viewing allowing for more athletic movements.
Defense: 1.97-2.04 pop times. C - Wide base with quick, clean exchanges on throwdowns. Footwork is much improved. 1B - Footwork improvements are very noticeable as he plays light on his feet with very good instincts.
Arm: RH. C - 76 mph. INF - 80 mph. C - Short, whippy arm action with improved quickness in the release. 1B - strong, accurate throws across the diamond.
Hit: RHH. Starts slightly open before rocking onto back leg and exploding through contact. Active hands; quick to the ball with power behind it.  Slight uphill path creates backspin. Pull side approach.
Power: 100 mph exit velocity. Power continues to develop and show more consistently.
Run: 7.66 runner in the 60.

9/13/20

Positional Profile: C/1B
Body: 6-1, 230-pounds. Large and sturdy frame with present strength
Hit: RHH. Stands slightly open. Pre-engaged with backside. Active hands in stance. Gets foot down early. Quick compact stroke. Flat-uphill swing path. Pull side approach.
Power: 88 mph exit velocity. Bat speed is there and uses lower half well. Pull side power is present especially on high pitches.
Arm: RH. C - 75 mph. INF - 83 mph. At catcher that arm action is short and whippy. Slower to release. Throws were good when he got extended but flashed some tail when he wasn't. At 1B was quick to release and made nice throws on his DPs.
Defense: 2.01-2.11 pop times. At catcher showed clean exchanges and footwork. Wide base. Provides a big target. At 1B looked comfortable with good footwork and soft hands showing an ability to pick it. One of the better 1Bs at the event.
Run: 7.98 runner in the 60.
