He finished the weekend 6-for-12 with a double, homer, three walks and a stolen base. Ran a 4.31 down the line on a ground out to second base. A bit undersized at 5-foot-10, 180 pounds to profile for the hot corner at the pro level, Modlin’s gritty style is likely to endear area scouts. With a strong season at the plate, he could be considered in the top 10 rounds as money saving senior sign.
