7/17/18-7/19/18 @ NCTB Upperclass Tourney - Three separate scouts submitted reports on him at the tourney: Slender sleek short stop with a ton of strength and athleticism, a fun player to watch perform on defense. Young body with a frame that can and will put on muscle, major upside for Gouveia. Decent speed, range on defense will improve with footwork fundamentals. Fielded a back hand on a tough hop, hit hard, deep in the 5-6 hole with a strong throw for an out. Arm strength will improve as his body matures, no doubt. /// All-around talented and skilled player. He cannot just handle the bat, but his defense is stellar as well. He started out with a single in the 3-4 hole. Once on base he has the speed to take the bag he wants. He has great baseball I.Q. and knows when the read a ball in dirt. /// Rangy SS with soft hands and solid footwork, average arm but makes up for it with a good release, bat needs some improving but decent approach at the plate allowed for quality at-bats against a quality pitcher.
